Lakeland's 2026 Veterans Day parade: no date from the city or the Veterans Council by Nov. 7. In 2025 it ran the Saturday before Nov. 11, the parade at 11 a.m.
Lakeland’s 2026 Veterans Day ceremony and parade had no date from the organizers as of Nov. 7. The City of Lakeland had posted no 2026 announcement on its news page, and the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority’s November calendar did not list the parade. In 2025 the ceremony was 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Veterans Memorial Park, and the parade followed at 11 a.m.
Updated Nov. 7: some local event calendars list the ceremony and parade for Saturday, Nov. 7, with the ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. We could not confirm that from the city, the Polk County Veterans Council or the state’s veterans event calendar, which blocked our check, and the LDDA’s calendar still shows no parade. Is it on this year?
Almost certainly, but the date is not public yet. The parade has run every year, and the city says that when Nov. 11 falls on a weekday, Lakeland holds it on the weekend before. Nov. 11, 2026, is a Wednesday, so the weekend before is Nov. 7-8. In 2025 the city announced the event on Oct. 27, about two weeks ahead. We will add the 2026 date, times and speaker here as soon as the city or the Polk County Veterans Council publishes them.

The ceremony
The ceremony honors all veterans at Veterans Memorial Park, beside the RP Funding Center on West Lime Street. The 2025 guest speaker was historian and author Alan Snyder, the city said.
The parade route
The Polk County Veterans Council hosts the parade. The 2025 route, from the city’s announcement, is the best guide until a 2026 route is published:
- Steps off from the RP Funding Center at 11 a.m.
- East along Lemon Street into downtown
- North on Kentucky Avenue
- Ends in the Munn Park parking lot
The 2025 parade featured veterans groups, JROTC units, Sea Cadets, Civil Air Patrol cadets, Scouts, marching bands, city public safety crews and Lakeland Electric, the city said.
Road closures and parking
No 2026 closure list has been published. On the 2025 route, the parade ran along Lemon Street and Kentucky Avenue late on a Saturday morning and finished in the Munn Park lot. Check road construction and closures the week of the parade, and our downtown Lakeland guide for the garages.
City-owned lots, garages and street spaces downtown are free all day on weekends, the LDDA says. The Saturday farmers market is on North Kentucky Avenue the same morning, so arrive early.
Veterans Day itself: Wednesday, Nov. 11
