What it is
SUN ‘n FUN began in 1974 as a fly-in for sport aviation enthusiasts and is run by the Aerospace Center for Excellence, a nonprofit, the organizers say. Hundreds of aircraft fill the campus: vintage, homebuilt, aerobatic, warbirds, jets and light sport planes. There are daily airshows, a trade show, forums and workshops for pilots, a career fair, and a family area for children. The daily schedule for 2027 had not been posted when we checked; the organizers mark it “coming soon.”
Tickets
The tickets page lists these rules:
- Buy online in advance or on site. The expo is 100% cashless.
- Prices shown are all-in, with no ticket fees added; taxes are added at checkout.
- Single-day and weekly tickets are sold. Online single-day tickets are good for any one day.
- Children 12 and under are free. Youth ages 13 to 17 buy a youth ticket.
- Active-duty service members and veterans get a discount online, and members of participating aviation groups can get discount codes.
- There is no cheaper ticket after 5 p.m.
- From 2027, camping does not include general admission; each camper needs a ticket.
Upgrades include the air-conditioned 9/27 Club chalet and reserved airshow seating along the flight line. The organizers had early bird prices in effect when we checked; see the tickets page for the current rate.
